Performance Evidence

Evidence is required to be collected that demonstrates a candidate’s competency in this unit. Evidence must be relevant to the roles within this sector’s work operations and satisfy all of the requirements of the performance criteria of this unit and include evidence that the candidate:

locates and applies relevant legislation, documentation, policies and procedures

works effectively with others to undertake and management of well servicing rig-up operations that meets all of the required outcomes including:

complying with written and verbal reporting requirements and procedures

communicating clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions

communicating clearly and concisely with others to resolve coordination requirements throughout work activities

demonstrates completion of well servicing rig-up operations that safely, effectively and efficiently meets all of the required outcomes on more than one (1) occasion including:

interpreting well servicing rig up program and communicate to team members

identifying and assigning resources

assessing and implementing work health and safety requirements

establishing effluent disposal systems

coordinating engine power start-up

conducting pre-spud inspection


Knowledge Evidence

The candidate must demonstrate knowledge of managing and monitoring rig-up operations through:

accessing, interpreting and applying the organisation and site requirements and procedures

maintaining company and statutory safety guidelines, procedures and practices

establishing and maintaining safe operating procedures for operating equipment

establishing and maintaining rig up procedures

maintaining safe rigging and dogging practices

identifying auxiliary equipment functions and service requirements

knowledge and application of specific auxiliary rig up sequence

safety and environmental issues

using communication equipment

establishing and preparing for emergency procedures

establishing and maintaining preventative maintenance

adhering to workplace relations and award conditions
